In the stark landscape of her painting, women farmers raise their arms, extending three fingers of their right hands. Originally a rebel salute from the American sci-fi film series The Hunger Games (2012–23), the gesture has become a symbol of resistance against the military dictatorship in Myanmar.

Am 12.09.2025 habt ihr die Möglichkeit, an einer exklusiven Führung mit der Kuratorin Zascha Colah teilzunehmen, die ihre Doktorarbeit über myanmarische Kunst verfasst hat, sowie mit Zoncy Heavenly, einer der zeitgenössischen Künstler*innen aus Myanmar.
Der Eintritt ist frei für Gäste aus Myanmar.

Are you curious about contemporary art, especially performance and works that reveal the inner thoughts of artists who lived through Myanmar’s military dictatorship?
Then you have a chance to join an exclusive guided tour led by curator Zascha Colah, who has researched Myanmar Contemporary Art in depth and one of Myanmar’s contemporary artists Zoncy Heavenly.
